Sushi Board

Every year, a local brewery hosts a skateboard design auction to support charity. Recently, I created a sushi-themed skateboard deck using a blend of photography, graphic design, and manual photo transfer techniques.

This mixed media project began by photographing individual sushi pieces in a studio, using striking directional lighting against a grey backdrop. The images were edited in Photoshop, where they were clipped, retouched, and set against colorful backgrounds with reconstructed shadows.

Next, we printed the photos on wax paper and manually transferred them onto the skateboard. The project was completed with a matte clear coat finish sprayed on the deck.

The skateboard successfully raised $200 for charity at the auction!
